Welcome!

Worship at 10:00 am with Children's Church!

Gracepointe Church has been around for a while - but it’s new! Confusing? We have been Calvary Church since 1961, but God is doing a new work among us and so we have a new name. Gracepointe Church captures the core of who we are: people who are passionate followers of Jesus Christ. Our new pastor, John Ramer, is leading us forward into a fresh vision of what it means to be a church that welcomes everyone in their spiritual journey. Our new mission statement sums up pretty well the kind of church we are in the process of becoming:

We exist to enjoy God in loving community while sharing Jesus with everyone.

Our Sunday worship service starts at 10:00 am with great coffee and friendly people with a children's program during the service for babies through grade 5. Everyone is offered a free gift of a great book and easy-to-read Bible. No matter who you are or where you are on your spiritual journey, you will be warmly welcomed. We don't expect everyone who comes in to be a follower of Jesus, but we do hope that anyone who hangs out with us will be interested in growing spiritually. We are a safe place, but safe doesn't mean comfortable. Real answers to life's important questions rarely are comfortable, but we are convinced that living in the truth of who God is, is better than being naïve or unaware of what is at stake in our lives.

We are passionate about connecting people to God's love and truth for living in the 21st century by teaching God's Word on Sunday morning in ways that make sense in today's world — just like Jesus did when he taught using the daily life experiences of those around him to explain who God is and how to live in response to that truth. We are convinced no one embodies the truth about God and daily living better than Jesus Christ, and that is why we have made following Jesus the priority of our lives. We have discovered that the authentic and meaning-filled life we all want is found in Him.

We have the same approach with our music; our band will sound musically like the kind of songs you probably listen to, but the words will be about God. Most of the time our songs are pretty new, but sometimes we enjoy an oldie but goodie. Our new sound system is pretty sweet. Experiencing God in worship is important to us.

We care about serving our community and seeing lives changed. That is why we have a food pantry and are starting a number of new seminars that are open to everyone in the community including the nationally known ministries Alpha, Financial Peace University, and GriefShare. For more information, please call our office.

Our website is still catching up to the new things we are doing as a church, but please be patient with us; we are a church in the process of changing. We aren't "there yet," but we know where we are headed. If this is the kind of church you might be interested in checking out or being part of what God is doing, then come as you are. You will be welcomed and loved.
