Calvary Missions
Vision

|
September 11, 2007 The 2007 Missions Team prays with Lynda Oatley at Rio de Janeiro's international airport. |
We have a vision of supporting missionaries with at least one fourth of their support so that they can spend more time with us and develop closer relationships when they are on home assignment. We have a vision of relieving missionaries of the burden of spending most of their home assignment traveling from church to church each week. This is exhausting, not always healthy for families and does not promote relationships with the church. We have a vision of sending adult and student groups to work side by side with our missionary teams on the field, increasing our investment in their ministry and our relationship with them. We have a vision of receiving missionaries on home assignment as part of our staff so that they can minister to us over an extended period of time, helping us raise up new missionaries from among us and being used by God to encourage and refresh them. We have a vision of seeing God raise up many from among us who will go out - commissioned by us, supported by us, and known deeply by us.
Missionaries On Staff
Lynda Oatley
Lynda is our first Missionary on Staff. Serving in the Rio de Janeiro area of Brazil, she works primarily as a staff chaplain for Reame, a home for street children. Calvary has partnered with Lynda since 2002, providing 25% of her support. While on home leave, Lynda is able to spend quality time with us, serving on our staff and getting to know Calvary. In 2007, we were able to send our first short term missions team to Brazil to come alongside Lynda and pray for her, her ministry and the people of Brazil. It is our hope and desire to continue sending down teams annually or bienially to serve with Lynda. For information on our next trip or to view the travel log of the previous trip, click here.
